THE WRITING ON THE WALL
From the beginning it
was clear Sylvia would be expressive with how she saw the world
around her. At the raw age of 4, she created Pollack-like
installation all over the walls of her Milanese kindergarten. Using
splotches of every shade of crayola crayons she could get her
little hands on. Despite becoming wildly popular with her
kindergarten co-mates, the school kept a close eye on her
"creativity".
It was clear that Sylvia was going to continue to leave her mark
everywhere. Earning two undergrad degrees and a post grad degree in
Applied Arts in Architecture and Interior Design at the Art
Institute in Turin, she was eager to expand her horizons. So in
1988, she left Milan for New York where she got her BFA in Media
Arts at the School of Visual Arts.
From graphic design to creative direction, Sylvia has created
award-winning advertising while working in a number of agencies big
and small including:
Saks
Incorporated, SpikeDDB, The New York Times, Hill/Holliday, DDB,
TBWA/Chiat/Day, Green Team Advertising, OgilvyOne, GoSmile, Tito
Pedrini, Mariana Antinori.
Sylvia has earned a
reputation for designing a signature european, humane and humorous
sensibility to all her work. As the partner of FinFog
(Finzi+Fogarty) she created her most conceptual work for everything
from Bastard snowboard to GoSmile corporate identity, continually
pushing the boundaries to create something lovable yet unexpected.
No wonder the likes of Spike Lee commented on how much he likes her
style.
She hopes to continue working to try and create the most insightful
and visually stunning work.
